The name ShivYog has an in-depth meaning. Shiv does not refer just to Lord Shiva but the name Shiv is beyond the barriers of name and form. Shiv simply means infinite, which is also known with different names like God, Supreme, Universal Consciousness, etc. Yog means uniting or merging. So ShivYog means merging with the infinite or becoming one with God.

new shiv yog logo_smallBabaji over a period of time with His deep life-long meditational practices has brought out into the world the practices that were dying with time. These were highly secretive practices that were practiced by great Siddhas or divine beings in earlier eras. Babaji desired to present these practices for the use of the common man with the intention that human beings make utmost use of these practices to make their lives fulfilling, complete, and thus making it possible to attain self-realization and attain liberation from the cycle of birth and death. Thus ShivYog manifested that soon became the practice of lakhs of people who attended the shivirs conducted by Babaji all over the globe in the past decade. Lakhs of people benefitted as they applied the teachings and practical meditation practices into their lives and transformed their lives with good health, prosperity, peace and contentment. All the practices taught by Babaji vary from basics to intensive advanced practices, which aim to purifying the self by working on clearing the impurities of karma accumulated in ignorance over lifetimes. Babaji says that one has to take responsibility for any life situation that one is in because the current situation is nothing but a result of one’s own earlier karma created earlier by ignorance. By practicing these methods of self-healing and self-purification along with other powerful daily practices of selfless service and chanting can bring in faster purification and thus faster spiritual growth. As one purifies one’s karmic influences better health, prosperity, abundance become more evident in one’s life that is the basic birthright of every human being. As one enjoys better prospects of life one while at the same time raising one’s consciousness, one grows spiritually and worldly developing a detached attitude to the spiritual and material gains that come his way and with time transcends above the limitations of the body and the laws of 3rd dimension. All this process and the further process of liberation from the karmic cycle of births and deaths happens while one follows the path shown by the Guru and remains connected with the infinite (Shiv) during the journey of life and finally merges (Yog) into the infinite or God consciousness. This process is ShivYog, a process very simplified by a living Siddha Avdhoot Baba Shivanandji.

sy1MORE ABOUT SHIVYOG

Etymologically, understood, Shiv means infinite and Yog means union. So ShivYog implies union with the infinite. But what is infinite and what is union? This is exactly the raison d’être or reason for existence of its leading light, Father of Indian Healing Avdhoot Baba Shivanand ji. The powerhouse of wisdom that he is, Baba ji says it is wrong to suggest that God can be realized only through mortification and total renunciation. Of course that way exists, but there is also the other way which the sagacious saints and pragmatic Siddhas understood and which is most suited to the contemporary times. This way involves striking a fine balance between worldly duties and inner obligations to your own self. None is performed at the expense of the other. What’s more, this manner of evolution was also that taken by Lord Shiva himself and ensures most gains with least effort.

A worldly man has the best compass to routinely assess his spiritual growth – his family. Because sitting alone in caves, anyone can claim to have mastered the vices of ego, anger, greed, jealousy, one-upmanship etc. Sitting alone he can also say that the lures of the world lo longer attract him. It is only when confronted with different scenarios involving complex emotions of different individuals that he can measure our spiritual progress.

ShivYog teaches us that Self Awakening is anything but living in seclusion and undergoing so much pain to perform ‘tapa’. ShivYog is about understanding that the infinite energy of solace that we seek outside is actually within us. The unacknowledged seed of potential that is very much there within us has to be nurtured for it to become a tree laden with fruits of all round development and dynamic success in all walks of life.

ShivYog is about opening your inner window to experience the beauty of the world as it exists rather than how we perceive it through the prism of our prejudices. Elaborating on this concept, Baba ji’s son and the other guiding light of ShivYog apart from Baba ji himself, Acharya Ishan Shivanand ji says, “Worship is in our genes. We often look upto some idol to perform hero worship. From film stars to sports personalities, from comic heroes to cinematic superhumans, any new sensation becomes an object to emulate, an object to look upto. This goes to show that even the person who says I’m agnostic or an atheist, is actually looking for a higher entity to replicate the rich feats of this higher entity in his own life. And more importantly, draw inspiration and energy to himself attain higher goals. Similarly, for the devout and spiritual, ‘God’ is that higher entity of inspiration. Now what do we understand by the term God? An entity which has total control of what is happening around it, an entity which is unbeatable, an entity whose mere mention heals wounds, whose mere invocation leads to miracles and whose heroics in subduing and beating up the devil trigger in us the feeling of awe. What if I tell you that you are God? What if I tell you that ShivYog has the potency to unearth the inner hero, the inner Almighty within you?”

Ishan ji could not be more correct. To understand how, let us first understand why we feel helpless in life regarding some or all of its aspects. Lack of good health in the family, financial crunch, inability to land a job of your choice etc. have all at one point or other, to put it mildly, irritated us. Fed up with such dire straits and difficulties, we have knocked the doors of all kinds of counsellors, physicians and astrologers, but long lasting solution has been hard to come by. So when we are confronted with any problem, we have to confess that we do look for someone in whose abilities we have faith and whom we think can understand the way out to solve it better than us.

This scenario of arising of a problem and us seeking solutions in other people is best understood by this analogy. Suppose, you have a blackboard, smeared with a plethora of text written over some other text such that what is exactly written makes little or no sense. Now, in order to decipher what is written, you rush to others for help. The others write some more on it, making the task more difficult instead of simplifying it. ShivYog is the method where the Guru performs the simple task of erasing the past writings on the blackboard through his duster. And later, enabling you to dust off the text yourself.

sy2And once the blackboard is rubbed off, you are free to make your own writings on it. Now, coming back to God and worship. As you are liberated of the overwritten mish-mash of text, you are a free individual. You can do anything. You can be the sole conductor of your life. You can be on the driver’s seat deciding to the last detail what goes out and what stays in your life. What type of job you want, what salary should it pay, what type of health you enjoy, what is your equation with your family, acquaintances and other people in your life, what emotion you carry always so on and so forth. Doesn’t this sound like being in total control of everything or just being like God?

Yes, you remember it right. As described earlier that God is an entity which we consider as a superpower, in full control of the happenings, capable of undoing any wrong and potent enough to overwhelm any and every evil, when we say you become the master of your own destiny through ShivYog, indirectly it refers to the fact that it is the journey from making you from finite to infinite, from a mere helpless mortal to a commanding Almighty like figure.

And how we shall attain that level is not by booking the next flight to Himalayas, if there was one. Rather, while climbing a ladder of accomplishments – both worldly and spiritual we finally reach the ultimate stage of Self Actualisation.

ShivYog thus is a step wise process to firstly release the root cause of misery. Then as this baggage is cleared, experience a complete life, lived on our own terms and finally reach the state of “been everywhere done everything” – Spiritual Awakening. ShivYog empowers you with the tools to make your life meaningful by allowing you to draw the canvas of existence with your own brush just as you want it. And guess what! The benefits of the ShivYog process exist on levels you have known and also on levels you have not even heard. From those desirous of becoming very healthy physically to those willing to rid themselves of their chronic disease, from those with strained relationships to those looking to strengthen close ones, from those looking to get that coveted job to those looking for that perfect match, from those looking to immerse in bhakti to those seeking Salvation (Moskha), ShivYog has everything for everyone.

ShivYog is all about being a winner in life. ShivYogis know how to materialize a perfect 100 in exams, ShivYogis have the capability to materialize co-operation from colleagues and recognition from their boss, Shiv Yogis know the method to win the hearts of their loved ones and ShivYogis know how to lead a life on their own terms. A life with no compromise on worldly joy and a life replete with richness of what is holiest.
